Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Alfred Hill Gets Maximum
ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced the sentencing of ALFRED HILL 63, of 8 Magnolia Terrace, Albany, NY. HILL was convicted on February 16, 2005 of two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree at a trial before the Honorable Joseph C. Teresi. Judge Teresi sentenced HILL to two consecutive terms of seven years, the maximum allowable under statute plus three years post-release supervision. The indictment alleged that between July 3 rd and 4 th, 2004, the defendant engaged in illegal sexual contact with a female child under the age of 11 years old. He also engaged in repeated sexual contacts with a ten year old child between the months of January and August, 2004. Assistant District Attorney Holly Trexler called for the maximum sentence stating at the sentencing hearing, “This defendant was entrusted with the care and custody of these children. The violation of trust in this case is worse than is others because of the family dynamic involved”. Trexler also read a statement of one of the victims who submitted a written statement to the court stating, “I have to move and leave my teachers, friends and my neighborhood. Because of this my family is arguing more and we are having a hard time getting along. Also, I don’t feel safe anymore.” District Attorney Soares thanked the Judge for the sentence stating, “The harm that this defendant caused is going to be felt by this child for a very long time. I praise the Judge and Ms Trexler for this outcome and this sentence but I can assure you that this defendant has sentenced the children that he abused and their families to a period of torment much harsher than what he got.” Back to Press Releases For further information contact: Richard Arthur
