Colonie Soccer Coach Sentenced for 

Criminal Sexual Act Against a Minor

ALBANY, NY –  District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that AMGAD ABDALLA, 29, of Albany, was sentenced to 3 ½ years in State Prison, to be followed by 10 years of Post-Release Supervision, before the Honorable Andra Ackerman in Albany County Court this afternoon. On April 23, 2021, ABDALLA pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Criminal Sexual Act in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony.

On March 27, 2021, ABDALLA brought a minor under the age of 17 to a hotel located in the Town of Colonie, where he committed a criminal sexual act against the child. At the time of the incident ABDALLA was a soccer coach to the minor.

ABDALLA will be mandated to register as a Sex Offender upon release from custody.

Assistant District Attorney Matthew Schrantz and Assistant District Attorney Caroline Murray handled the prosecution of this case.
