ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that a second man has been sentenced for a violent stabbing incident that occurred at an Albany residence on First Street in April 2020.

Co-Defendant HUGH SAXBY, 28, of Albany, was previously sentenced to (8) years in State Prison, to be followed by (5) years of Post-Release Supervision, after pleading guilty to (1) Count of Attempted Robbery in the First Degree, a Class C Violent Felony.

After the encounter, the victim was able to get to safety and call for medical assistance. Due to the severity of blood loss from the stab wound, the victim was immediately intubated upon arrival at the hospital.
