Second Man Charged in Albany Murder Case

ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that HASSAN RIDDICK, 29, of Colonie, was arraigned before Honorable Roger D. McDonough in Albany County Supreme Court this afternoon in relation to a June 2020 homicide that took place on Third Street in the City of Albany.

Alleged co-defendant ALFONSO FULLER, 29, of Albany, was previously arraigned for his role in the incident on November 5th.

An indictment was unsealed today after an Albany County Grand Jury previously returned charges against RIDDICK and FULLER, alleging that while acting in concert with another they committed (1) Count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A-I Felony, in relation to the shooting death of 34 year old Dwayne Fenner. Fenner was shot and killed outside of a residence on Third Street on June 18, 2020 at approximately 4:05 P.M. In relation to that incident, RIDDICK was also arraigned today on (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Armed Violent Felony, and (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class D Armed Violent Felony.

RIDDICK pleaded not guilty to the unsealed charges and was remanded without bail.

The Grand Jury also returned a charge against FULLER of (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Armed Violent Felony, for a separate shooting incident that occurred on April 25, 2020. The indictment alleges that on that date at approximately 5:51 P.M., while in the area of Elm Street and Grand Street in the City of Albany, FULLER was knowingly in possession of a loaded firearm. Members of the Albany Police Department responded to a call for shots fired on that day, and when they arrived to the scene found a canine that had been shot and killed. An investigation uncovered that during a dispute with individuals in the area, FULLER fired the weapon at the animal. FULLER previously pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded without bail.

No new appearance dates have been scheduled by the Court for either alleged charged party.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato is handling the prosecution of this case.
