Murder Indictment Unsealed

in Albany County Court

ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that ALFONSO FULLER, 29, of Albany, was arraigned before Honorable Roger D. McDonough in Albany County Supreme Court this morning in relation to a June 2020 homicide that took place on Third Street in the City of Albany.

An indictment was unsealed this morning after an Albany County Grand Jury previously returned charges against FULLER, alleging that while acting in concert with another he committed (1) Count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A-I Felony, in relation to the shooting death of 34 year old Dwayne Fenner. Fenner was shot and killed outside of a residence on Third Street on June 18, 2020 at approximately 4:05 P.M.

The investigation into the murder remains open and pending.

The Grand Jury also returned a charge of (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Armed Violent Felony, for a separate shooting incident that occurred on April 25, 2020. The indictment alleges that on that date at approximately 5:51 P.M., while in the area of Elm Street and Grand Street in the City of Albany, FULLER was knowingly in possession of a loaded firearm. Members of the Albany Police Department responded to a call for shots fired on that day, and when they arrived to the scene found a canine that had been shot and killed. An investigation uncovered that during a dispute with individuals in the area, FULLER fired the weapon at the animal.

FULLER pleaded not guilty to the charges today in Court and was remanded without bail. No new appearance dates have been scheduled by the Court.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato is handling the prosecution of this case.
