Shooter Sentenced in Albany County Court



  

 

ALBANY, NY -  District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that JOSE CEPEDA-SOLIS, 23, of Troy, was sentenced to (8) years in State Prison, to be followed by (5) years of Post-Release Supervision, before the Honorable William A. Carter in Albany County Court this morning for his role in a shooting in the City of Albany on May 22nd.


On September 9, 2020, CEPEDA-SOLIS pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Armed Felony.


On May 22, 2020, after 9:00 P.M., CEPEDA-SOLIS fired a gun near the intersection of Madison Avenue and Lark Street in the City of Albany, ultimately striking a male victim. The parties had just been involved in an automobile crash and were engaged in an argument. The victim was treated and survived the incident.


Senior Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato prosecuted this case.
