 Man Admits to Bilking Over


$500k from Employer



ALBANY, NY -  District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that JONATHAN K. ADAMS, 38, of Castleton, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony, before the Honorable William A. Carter in Albany County Court this morning.

Over a period of years between 2015 and 2019, while employed at a vendor of music merchandise in the City of Albany, ADAMS stole $517,773.00 by diverting a large number of invoice payments from commercial customers to his personal bank account.

An investigation conducted by the New York State Police Financial Crimes Unit and the Albany Police Department let to ADAMS’ arrest and prosecution.

ADAMS faces up to 2 to 6 years in State Prison when sentenced on October 29, 2020. ADAMS will also be mandated to pay back $450,000 in restitution.

Assistant District Attorney Daniel Bulger of the Financial Crimes Unit is prosecuting this case.
