  25 Year Sentence in Violent

Albany Robbery Case

ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that DAQUIN MONTGOMERY, 27, of Albany, was sentenced to 25 Years in State Prison, to be followed by 5 years of Post-Release Supervision, before the Honorable William A. Carter in Albany County Court this morning.

MONTGOMERY was previously found guilty after a jury trial of (4) Counts of Robbery in the First Degree, each Class B Violent Felonies, and (2) Counts of Burglary in the Second Degree, each Class B Violent Felonies.

After hearing testimony and reviewing evidence presented at trial, the jury concluded that on October 8, 2018, at approximately 8:30 P.M., MONTGOMERY, acting in concert with a co-defendant, unlawfully entered a residence on Washington Avenue in the City of Albany and forcibly stole property from (4) victims while displaying what appeared to be a pistol.

Co-defendant MARCELLE CHANDLER, 24, of Albany, previously pleaded guilty to the entire indictment and is currently scheduled to be sentenced on January 10, 2020 for his role in the crime.
