 Persistent Violent Felon Pleads Guilty

 

to Assault in Violent Albany Case


  


ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that RICKY RODRIGUEZ, 41, of Albany, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D Violent Felony, before the Honorable William A. Carter in Albany County Court this morning.

On March 22, 2019, at approximately 8:50 P.M., RODRIGUEZ intentionally struck and stomped on a person who was not known to him while in the vestibule of 45 Central Avenue in the City of Albany. The incident left the victim hospitalized for several weeks.

Due to his violent criminal history, RODRIGUEZ faces 12 years to Life in State Prison as a Mandatory Persistent Violent Felon when sentenced on October 18, 2019.

Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato of the Major Offense Unit is handling the prosecution of this case.
