 Sentencing in Albany Stabbing Case


  



ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that JAY RODWELL, 28, of Albany, was sentenced to 10 years in State Prison, to be followed by 5 years of Post Release Supervision, before the Honorable William A. Carter in Albany County Court this morning.

On July 2, 2019, RODWELL pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, a Class C Violent Felony.

On December 29, 2018, at approximately 8:35 P.M. at a convenience store on Delaware Avenue in the City of Albany, RODWELL attempted to cause serious physical injury to the victim by stabbing them.


Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato of the Major Offense Unit prosecuted this case.
