 Guilty Plea in Prison Contraband Case


ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that ROBERT ROBERTS, 29, of Albany, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, a Class D Felony, before the Honorable Roger D. McDonough in Albany County Court this morning.

On July 25, 2018, at approximately 4:07 P.M., employees of the Albany County Correctional Facility conducted a routine search of ROBERTS, who was in custody at the facility. During the search, ROBERTS was found in possession of a cellophane bag containing a white substance. The substance initially tested positive for the presence of heroin. Further laboratory testing confirmed that the substance also contained a quantity of fentanyl.

ROBERTS faces up to 2 1/3 years to 7 years in State Prison when sentenced on September 6, 2019.
