 Guilty Plea in Albany Stabbing Case 



  



ALBANY, NY -District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that JAY RODWELL, 28, of Albany, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, a Class C Violent Felony, before the Honorable William A. Carter in Albany County Court this morning.


On December 29, 2018, at approximately 8:35 P.M. at a convenience store on Delaware Avenue in the City of Albany, RODWELL attempted to cause serious physical injury to the victim by stabbing them in their side close to his back. 


RODWELL faces up to 10 years in State Prison, to be followed by 5 years of Post Release Supervision, when sentenced on August 20, 2019. 


Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato of the Major Offense Unit prosecuted this case.
