ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that TASHEEM MAEWEATHER, 20, of Albany, was arraigned before the Honorable Roger D. McDonough in Albany County Supreme Court this afternoon for allegedly firing a loaded weapon at Crossgates Mall on November 12, 2016.
MAEWEATHER was previously indicted by a Grand Jury on (1) Count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a Class B Violent Felony, (1) Count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, a Class C Violent Felony, (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Armed Violent Felony, (1) Count of Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, a Class D Felony.
The indictment alleges that on November 12, 2016, MAEWEATHER allegedly possessed a loaded firearm and intended to cause the death of another individual while inside Crossgates Mall in the Town of Guilderland. The indictment also alleges that MAEWEATHER recklessly engaged in conduct which created a grave risk of death to another.
MAEWEATHER remains in custody at the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail. No new court appearances have been scheduled at this time.
