Bring It to the Courts Program

The Office of The Albany County District Attorney sponsors a basketball league called Bring It To The Courts.

Mission Statement

The Office of the Albany County District Attorney is proud to sponsor Bring it To The Courts, a local youth basketball league. The Bring It To The Courts program was created to promote positive development among the economically disadvantaged youth in the City of Albany. Participants facilitate interactive workshops that combine instructional basketball with positive lifestyle reinforcement. By providing opportunities for their academic and physical growth through structured programming, the players are motivated to exhibit the highest levels of leadership and excellence both on and off the court.

The Bring It To The Courts program began with a one-day event in August of 2005 and was established as an official league in the Spring of 2006. To date, we have completed four full seasons!

Basketball games take place every Saturday at the Arbor Hill Community Center from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Any students in grades 5 through 9 are welcome to participate.

Players must attend workshops on Wednesday evenings to be eligible to play in Saturday games. These workshops include video production, bike repair, medical instruction, self-defense, and baking. Click here to read about the medical workshop.

If you are interested in finding out more about participating or volunteering with the Bring It To The Courts program, please contact Amanda Paeglow at (518) 275-4768. The program members are extraordinary young people who appreciate any volunteer contributions, even if it is just coming out on Saturdays to cheer them on!
