Mission Statement: The Albany County District Attorney's Office has the responsibility and authority to investigate and prosecute crimes in Albany County. It is the Mission of this Office to protect the people of Albany County through the vigorous prosecution of crime. In all cases, the primary objective of the Office is the administration of justice. A District Attorney is empowered to prosecute cases on behalf of the government and its people. With that, comes the expectation of fairness and humility. The District Attorney, by example, sets the bar for all law enforcement and their conduct must be nothing short of exemplary. Chief Investigator Chris D’Alessandro Christian D’Alessandro, a recognized member of the Albany Police Department for 17 years, is an Effective Law Enforcement Manager and Supervisor with a demonstrated ability to build positive, strong rapport with inner city communities and a stronger record of achievement in building coalitions of local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies and non-for profit organizations. D’Alessandro holds a B.A. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany and Graduated as part of the 2002 Class from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. D’Alessandro was active in the U.S. Army and was Honorably Discharged in 1980. After graduating from Florida State in 1987, he joined the Albany Police Department and became a Patrol Commander in 2002, supervising two hundred sworn personnel and civilians. He has been the Chief Investigator and Chief of Operations since 2005 when he was appointed by District Attorney Soares. |
