Man Arraigned on Murder


and Attempted Murder Charges 





ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that BRANDON WALKER, 21, of Albany, was arraigned on (1) Count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A-I felony, (1) Count of Attempted Murder in the Second degree, a Class B Violent Felony, (1) Count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, a Class C Violent Felony, and (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, before the Honorable Judge Peter A. Lynch in Albany County Court this morning.

The charges allege that on or about September 20, 2015, at approximately 12:57 a.m., in the City of Albany, WALKER did cause the death of Louis Haynie by means of stabbing him with a knife. WALKER then allegedly attempted to cause the death of another man by means of stabbing him with a knife two times, once in his upper left back and once in his right flank.  

WALKER remains in custody at the Albany County Correctional Facility.

Assistant District Attorney Jessica Blain-Lewis is prosecuting this case.
