Anthony Collins Pleads Guilty to

 

Attempted Abduction of SUNY Student

 

 

 

ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that ANTHONY COLLINS, 54, of Albany, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Attempted Kidnapping in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony before the Honorable Roger McDonough in the Supreme Court of Albany County this afternoon.

On October 4, 2013 in the area of Western Avenue and O‚ÄôLeary Boulevard in the City of Albany, the defendant attempted to abduct a victim by directing her to walk in the direction of his residence while holding a knife to her back.  The victim was not physically harmed.

COLLINS remains in custody until sentencing on March 10, 2014 and faces up to 12 years in State Prison.

Chief Assistant District Attorney David Rossi is handling the prosecution of this case.
