Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Moore Sentenced to 50 Years for Raping Child ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that VICTOR MOORE, 32, of Waterford , NY , was sentenced to 50 years in prison and 10 years of post release supervision by the Honorable Thomas Breslin. On April 5, 2007 , MOORE was found guilty of (1) count of Rape in the 1 st Degree and (2) counts of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the 1 st Degree after a trial presided over by the Honorable Thomas Breslin. During the months between November 1998 and January 2001, MOORE engaged in several acts of sexual conduct, which includes at least one act of sexual intercourse, deviate sexual intercourse or aggravated sexual contact with a child who is incapable of consent by reason of being less than (11) years old. Additionally, between November 1998 and January 1999, MOORE did engage in sexual intercourse with another person, to whom he was not married, and that person was incapable of consent by reason of being less than (11) years old. “This criminal will be in prison for a very long time because of an extremely courageous young woman,” commented DA Soares. “ADA Nolan was able to hold this defendant accountable because this child demonstrated the courage to stare down this defendant and testify in open court.
