Second Teen This Week to Face 3 Years for Gun Possession

ALBANY , NY – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that MESSIAH HOLLOWAY, 22, of Albany, NY pled guilty to (1) count of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2 nd Degree in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. HOLLOWAY faces three years in prison.

On April 10, 2007 at 3:56 A.M. in the area of South Swan Street and Sheridan Avenue, an Albany Police officer on routine patrol observer MESSIAH HOLLOWAY standing by a parking lot with his hands tucked in his shirt. Upon seeing the officer, HOLLOWAY turned and walked away. The officer began to ask HOLLOWAY questions and when the information given did not make sense, the officer started to pat down Holloway for officer safety and felt the butt of a rifle. Holloway had a rifle that had been sawed down to nine inches long and four live rounds of ammunition.

Sentencing for HOLLOWAY is scheduled for July 24, 2007.
