Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Raysomon Jackson Arraigned for Murder of Man Found in Abandoned Building ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that RAYSOMON JACKSON, 24, of Albany, NY, was arraigned on four counts including; (1) count of Murder in the First Degree, a Class “A-1” Felony, (1) count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “A-1” Felony, (1) count of Robbery in the First Degree, a Class “B” Violent Felony and (1) count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Armed, Violent Felony in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. JACKSON pled not guilty to the charges and was remanded into the custody of the Albany County Sherriff. He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted of the charges. The indictment alleges that on January 29, 2009, around 12:47 AM in the area of Lark Drive in the City of Albany, RAYSOMON JACKSON intentionally caused the death of Ruel Torak by shooting him in the head while attempting to rob him. Torak was not found until February 21, 2009 when a contractor saw him inside the boarded up doorway of 810 Broadway Avenue.
