Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Colonie Burglars to Serve 7 Years ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that CUONG DU, a.k.a “Nicky Du”, 19, of Albany , NY , and GREGORY HOUSTON, a.k.a. “slugger”, 19, of Albany , NY , were sentenced to 7 years in prison and 5 years post release supervision by the Honorable Dan Lamont. The two pled guilty to (1) count of Burglary in the 2 nd Degree in front of the Honorable Dan Lamont on March 20, 2007 . Between November 21, 2006 and December 22, 2006 DU, HOUSTON and two co-defendants, brothers RICARDO BURCIAGA, a.k.a. “Foolish” and “Pudge”, and CEASAR BURCIAGA, broke into nine homes in the town of Colonie . “Citizens of our county should be confident that their property and possessions are safe while they are at home and while away. These four young men brought fear and insecurity into the neighborhoods of Colonie and their punishment should serve as a warning to those considering similar actions. You will be caught and prosecuted harshly by the Courts of Albany County,” commented DA Soares. RICARDO and CEASAR BURCIAGA entered guilty pleas two weeks ago and will be sentenced in August.
