Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Allan Teller Receives Sentence for DWI & Hit-and-Run ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that ALLAN TELLER, 20, of Colonie, NY was sentenced to 6 months in jail and 5 years probation for (1) count of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and (1) count of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. Additionally, TELLER’s license was revoked. TELLER pled guilty to the two charges on April 15, 2007. On or about February 17, 2007 at approximately 3:37 a.m. near the intersection of Daytona Avenue and Western Avenue in Albany, TELLER was driving his 1995 Buick while under the influence of alcohol and fled the scene of the crime, knowing he had hit a pedestrian causing physical harm. “Anytime a person gets behind the wheel of a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol, they are placing not only their own life at risk, but also the lives of anyone one they come into contact with,” commented DA Soares. “Thankfully, no one was killed in this incident but by fleeing the scene after running over his victim, this man chose to ignore the law and his civil responsibility and is being held accountable for that.” Chief ADA Mark Harris handled the prosecution of this case.### For further information contact: Heather Streeter Orth
