Man Received 3 Years for Violation of Protection Order and Harassment

ALBANY , NY –  District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that ROBERT LAUDER, 27, of Selkirk, NY was sentenced to one to three years in prison for Criminal Contempt in the First Degree in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. LAUDER pled guilty on April 13, 2007.

Between April 2006 and August 2006 in the City of Albany, ROBERT LAUDER violated an order of protection issued by an Albany Family Court Judge by calling the victim several times and threatening her.

“When an Order of Protection is violated, this Office will stand behind the victim and take every step necessary to ensure the defendant is severely punished. It is very clear that this defendant has a complete disregard for the legal system and his family, so he will continue to face prison time until that changes,” commented DA Soares.

ADA David Rossi, Homicide and Special Victims Bureau Chief handled the prosecution of this case.
