Palm Beach ‘Medical Director’ Arraigned in ‘Operation Which Doctor’
Ryan Dumas Charged with 28 Counts and Remanded

ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today the arraignment of RYAN DUMAS, 31, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, on multiple counts in connection with Signature Pharmacy and the illegal distribution of controlled substances. He was remanded by the Albany County Sheriff’s Office pending a written bail application.

DUMAS faces (28) counts consisting of: (1) count of Enterprise Corruption, a Class “B” Felony, (1) count of Criminal diversion of prescription medications and prescriptions in the F irst degree, a Class “C” Felony, (9) counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a Class “D” Felony, (8) counts of Attempted Criminal Sale of a Prescription for a Controlled Substance, a Class “D” Felony, (2) counts of Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree, a Class “E” Felony and (7) counts of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor. A previous indictment, which excluded DUMAS, charged three other members of Palm Beach Rejuvenation with similar charges. This new indictment has come after further investigation into the activities of Palm Beach Rejuvenation.

The indictment alleges that from January 1, 2005 through February 26, 2007 in the County of Albany and other counties in the State of New York, DUMAS did knowingly and unlawfully sell the controlled substances Testosterone Cypionate, Nandralone Decanoate, Chorionic Gonadotropin and Stanozolol by issuing a prescription without a legitimate doctor/patient relationship and/or medical need, through his criminal associate Signature Pharmacy.

Additionally, the indictment alleges that DUMAS, along with other members of Palm Beach Rejuvenation, did intentionally participate in the affairs of a criminal enterprise by committing three or more pattern acts with knowledge of the existence of the criminal enterprise “Palm Beach Rejuvenation.” The criminal enterprise illegally sold steroids and related substances to customers throughout the United States, specifically in New York State.

“Just as the two dozen other defendants involved in the illegal sale of drugs to the people of Albany County, this defendant now faces serious prison time in New York State. Our case focuses on Signature Pharmacy, but the employees of their associated clinics must also be held accountable for the role they played in this illegal distribution ring,” commented DA Soares.

Financial Crimes Bureau Chief Christopher Baynes is handling the prosecution of this case.
