Faulkner Sentenced for Rape of Young Girl

ALBANY , NY – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that JOSEPH FAULKNER, 34, of Albany, NY was sentenced to 18 years in prison with 5 years post release supervision after pleading guilty to (1) count of Rape in the 1 st Degree in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. Faulkner pled guilty to the allegations on May 25 th.

Between January 1, 2005 and January 31, 2005, in the city of Albany, JOSEPH FAULKNER had sexual intercourse with a 12 years old child. FAULKNER was 31 at the time.

“No matter the length of time this man serves, the damage that he has caused on the victim will never be redeemed. While Mr. Faulkner will spend the next 18 years in prison, the victim will have to live with the aftermath of these horrific events for the rest of her life. Hopefully, this sentence will provide Mr. Faulkner with plenty of time to engage in serious thought about his actions and the injury he has inflicted,” commented DA Soares.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Mark Harris handled the prosecution of this case.
