Three Plead to Drug Charges After Police Raid

ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced the pleas of KENNETH PARROM, 25, of 866 Madison Ave Albany, NY, QUADDIR MOSS, 26, of 62 Hawkins St Newark, NJ, and JUAN NIETO, 23, of 3288 Perry Ave Bronx, NY to (1) count of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1 st Degree, in front of the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin. They each face 7 years in prison with 5 years post-release supervision.

On November 8, 2006 , Albany Police executed a search warrant at 866 Madison Avenue . The police recovered just under a pound of cocaine, 186 tablets of ecstasy, 7.3 ounces of marihuana, digital scales, and baggies. PARROM was arrested at the front door, while MOSS and NIETO were in the living room where the bulk of the products were sitting on the coffee table.

"The arrest of these drug dealers and the seizure of a significant amount of drugs from the streets of Albany County is a victory for all citizens,” commented DA Soares. “These men will be going away to prison for the next seven years for their inexcusable actions and I will continue the challenge of strengthening our community so that this void in the street drug market is never filled.”

Street Crimes Bureau Chief Francisco Calderon handled the prosecution of the case.

Sentencing for all three defendants is scheduled for September 5, 2007 .
