Williams Indicted on Multiple Counts

ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced the indictment of MARIANNE WILLIAMS, 31, of Albany, N.Y. for (1) count of Manslaughter in the Second Degree, (1) count Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, (1) count Criminally Negligent Homicide, and (1) count Reckless Driving.

On or about July 1, 2007 , at approximately 2:35 A.M. , WILLIAMS was operating a 1997 Plymouth Voyager east bound on First St. in a reckless manner and at a high rate of speed. After disregarding the stop sign at Henry Johnson Blvd. and First St , WILLIAMS struck another car, killing Harrison Carnevale of Latham , N.Y.

“This is a tragedy for the members of Albany County ,” commented DA Soares. “The community has lost a bright young man due to choices that could have easily been avoided. Our sympathy goes out to the friends and family of Harrison Carnevale, who had high hopes for the future. Unfortunately, nothing can be done to bring him back but my office will do everything within our abilities to ensure Ms. WILLIAMS is held accountable.”

Deputy Chief Assistant DA Cheryl Fowler is the prosecutor for the case.
