Albany Man Pleads Guilty to Rape, Faces 17 Years ALBANY , NY - District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that EDWARD FIRST, 36, of Myrtle Ave, Albany, NY, pled guilty to (1) count of Rape in the First Degree, a Class “ B ” Felony in front of the Honorable Dan Lamont. FIRST faces 17 years in prison and ten years post release supervision when sentenced on April 18, 2008. On May 4, 2007, on Eagle Street in the City of Albany, FIRST, while invited into the home, raped the roommate of his girlfriend. The victim was in an alcohol and/or drug intoxicated state and/or asleep, therefore, unable to communicate her unwillingness to engage in the act.
