Jovan Underdue Indicted for Murder ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that JOVAN UNDERDUE, 31, of Albany, NY, was indicted by the Grand Jury on five counts including: (3) counts of Murder in the 1st Degree, a Class “A-1” Felony, (1) count of Robbery in the First Degree, a Class “B” Violent Felony and (1) count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Armed, Violent Felony. UNDERDUE faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. “My thoughts are with the family and friends of Keynon, Bobby and Victor as they continue to mourn the loss of their loved ones. As these men are laid to rest this week, my focus will be on prosecuting the man who was willing to commit this heinous crime. This senseless act of violence has evoked anger and resentment in our community and I ask that everyone affected by this tragedy put aside that emotion and join in my effort to put this man behind bars for the rest of his life,” commented DA Soares. The indictment alleges that in the early morning hours of January 30, 2008, at 190 Delaware Avenue in the City of Albany, JOVAN UNDERDUE, possessing a loaded firearm, caused the death of Victor Anderson, Keynon Hankins and Bobby Jones by shooting the victims in the head. UNDERDUE then stole property from the victims consisting of a quantity of U.S. currency and/or personal identifications. Arraignment for UNDERDUE is scheduled for Friday, February 8, 2008. Homicide and Special Victims Bureau Chief Dave Rossi is handling the prosecution of this case. # # # For further information contact: Heather Streeter Orth
