Two Indicted on Attempted Murder Charges After June Shooting

ALBANY, NY –  Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today the indictment of DUANE MORRISON, 20, of 2 Lincoln Sq Apt, Albany, NY, and SIHEEN DRAYTON, 21, of 54 Basset St, Albany, NY.

MORRISON and DRAYTON both face (1) count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, (1) count of Assault in the First Degree, and (1) count of Assault in the Second Degree. MORRISON faces an additional charge of (1) count Escape in the Second Degree after escaping from the South Albany Police Station. The indictment alleges that on June 10th, 2007, DUANE MORRISON and SIHEEN DRAYTON, while on Third Ave in the City of Albany, with the intent to cause the death of two victims, did shoot with a .22 caliber long rifle. These actions did cause one victim to suffer a gunshot wound to his head and shoulder, while causing a left leg wound to a second victim. After being taken into custody, MORRISON escaped from the South Albany Police Station and was later apprehended.

Special Victims and Homicide Bureau Chief Dave Rossi is handling the prosecution of the case.
